NeuroExpo ABQ Exhibit 2016

June 2016 – The “Spatial Navigation Station” at the NeuroExpo ABQ Exhibit – New Mexico Museum of Natural History

In this event, groups of all ages learned the different types of strategies involved in spatial navigation. Specifically, students devised a scavenger hunt whereby individuals were required to find items using various strategies (taxon-navigation, path integration, route learning, dead reckoning etc.). At each stop, individuals learned of the strategy they used and were taught about neural mechanisms that may contribute to the use of such tactics.
